In the past we covered sockeye fishing basics, now it is time for one of my favorite little tweaks that I believe helps account for more fish in the box.I like using Colorado style spinner blades in my sockeye lures. Most of the metallic unpainted blades you’ll find in stores are nickel or brass. While these look shiny, they aren’t near as shiny and reflective as you can get.
Instead use real gold and silver plated blades. These metals will have maximum reflection underwater, to give them the most fish attracting power.
I also like using the hammered style, as I feel that does a better job reflecting in all directions as it spins.
Don’t miss out on these other sockeye fishing tips.
